After graduating from Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, he worked as an Emergency Room Physician and in administrative roles at Antalya State Hospital.

He became a Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Specialist at Ankara Numune Hospital.

Later, he worked as a Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Specialist at Antalya State Hospital, which later became Antalya Training and Research Hospital.

He retired from Antalya Training and Research Hospital in 2011.

Since 2005, he has been continuing his work at Fizikalya Medical Center, where he is a partner.

He is married to Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Ayşe Sevgül ŞAHİN and is the father of a daughter named Tuğçe ŞAHİN.
